Monthly Report: April 2026

  • Programming
    • I hosted Get Up & Dance for Kids, a monthly recurring program I offer on the first Saturday of the month, in which children are encouraged by music to move around and learn to follow directions in a fun environment.
    • As part of the Vaisakhi annual initiative, I created a cardstock flag and an informational zine with a mini coloring page for attendees to make and color. The program, Vaisakhi Craft, was on Saturday, April 18th. 3 persons attended.
    • For National Poetry Month annual initiative that I am a part of, I coordinated and hosted 4 Typewriter Type-Ins.
      1. Saturday, April 11th at Schaefer Branch Library. Sixteen persons attended.
      2. Sunday, April 19th at Encino Branch Library. Eighteen persons attended.
      3. Saturday, April 25th here at Mission. Twenty-eight persons attended. Two were repeats from prior type-ins.
      4. Sunday, April 26th at Potranco Branch Library. Seven persons attended; 3 were repeats from prior type-ins.
  • Committees
    • I attended the monthly Discovery Team meeting. The goal of the committee is to improve how patrons discover and access library materials digitally.
  • Trainings
    • I attended the Collection Development: Reviving the Collection training held virtually on Wednesday, April 29th. In the training, I observed and learned how and when to repair the spine of a book and how to recover a book.

EPE goal for next month:

  • I would like to host a recurring monthly Typewriter Type-In program.
