Monthly Report: March 2026

  • Programming
    • I partnered with David Torres of Austin Typewriter Ink to come and host a Type-in on Saturday, March 28th. David and I brought the majority of typewriters along with 3 other attendees who brought typewriters. Attendees came from Austin and Houston. About 25 typewriters were available for attendees to use. David and I would encourage  attendees to choose a machine and sit down. We then showed them the basics of operating the machines.
    • As part of the system-wide Traveling Craft Series aimed at older adults, I used the branch's Cricut to make supplies for attendees to make a 3D tulip from cardstock. The program was on March 20th.
  • Committees
    • I attended the monthly Discovery Team meeting. The goal of the committee is to improve how patrons discover and access library materials digitally.
  • Outreach
    • On Friday, March 20th, I visited Greenlake RV resort (which is in the branch's ADI) and set up an informational table for 2 hours.
  • Teamwork
    • I routinely like to scan the branch's Outlook calendar for meeting room reservations that have been made without a contract and create the contract.
