Monthly Report: November

  • Programming
    • This month, I partnered with David Torres of Austin Typewriter Ink., of Austin, Texas. Mr. Torres brought vintage typewriters of different eras for participants to try out and either experience analog tech for the first time or reminisce days gone by; depending on their age. The event drew members of the group from across the state from Arlington to Austin to Houston. All ages participated from older adults to young children, 34 people in all. Mr. Torres in addition to bringing his typewriters, creates an atmosphere of warmth and welcomes all to his type-ins.
  • Trainings
    • I've signed up for a Merchandising Training in January as assigned.
  • Teamwork
    • I assisted at McCreless Branch Library on  two Fridays, November 7th and 21st.
    • After the Senior Circulation Attendant requested for meeting room contracts to be either attached or printed out, I vetted the upcoming month for meeting room reservations without contracts and created the contract. Then I either attached to the reservation or printed it out and placed it in the meeting room contract folder.
      • On the note of meeting room contracts, I reached out on Teams regarding how to correctly account for non-paying groups. Haley Holmes replied with the recommended procedure.
  • Etc.
    • As Assistant Branch Manager, I completed the Annual EPEs for the three Library Assistants I supervise.

EPE goal for next month:

  • I plan to find a place for and utilize one of the two pyramid book displays I procured from Brook Hollow.
